I would love to get involved with the Castle Bromwich Society having moved into the area from Buckinghamshire just over a year ago. I am really pleased that I've moved to this village and that my girls will grow up in this lovely area. I've noticed litter pickers on our road and have wanted to get involved. I am keen to explore how I can help and add value to the society. I'm a full time remote Accountant working for a Pharmaceutical company and also a volunteer for Cancer Research UK, I support events raising funds as a Merchandiser. We recently had the Race for Life and Pretty Muddy events in Sutton Coldfield, Leicestershire and other areas around Solihull. Helping out in the community and taking care of the people and area around me is something that I feel strongly about and it would be great to get involved if such an opportunity arises.
I am a retired Chartered Building Surveyor, (although I am not familiar with the recent changes in Building Regs), I feel that I could be of assistance when discussing building matters / applications, etc.
I have lived in Castle Bromwich all my life , attending Bentley Road School and Park Hall, before going to University .
My three sons went to Park Hall and I was a member of the PTA.
Obviously I am very familiar with Castle Bromwich and the surrounding areas.
Kind regards,
Peter Ireland
I’m keen to see updates of any of the horrendous extensions with a view to objecting to planning permissions.
I’m appalled that I have to drive past a house by Bacon’s End and in several occasions noticed someone lying in their bed with no blinds closed. Faye enough if you lived in a remote area will rolling fields behind but how that planning was granted is beyond belief.
At last someone is listening to the residents of Castle Bromwich. We do not need H.M.O'S in our area, most of the houses applying for planning permission are for muliple bedroom and bathrooms. Green gardens are turning into vast car parks for a number of cars. Traffic parked around these side roads are no longer safe for children and residents to walk.
We would like to support the society and lend a voice of reason. Yes we agree to house extensions where young families are growing a need the space but most of the planning permissions have been granted to extra large H.M.O's. The very basis of Castle Bromwich will not be able to cope i.e. sewage, drains, pollution from cars.
Castle Bromwich is no longer a village where we could walk and chat to neighbours, it has become one big mess.
Let’s hope it’s not to late in getting set up because as l see it the planning department aren’t doing a lot to stop these ugly and excessive extensions the areas character and history is slowly been eroded.
