A Neighbourhood Plan for Castle Bromwich

A neighbourhood plan puts in place planning policy for a neighbourhood area to guide future development. It focuses on the use and development of land and may contain a vision, aims, planning policies and proposals for improving the area, providing new facilities, and on allocation of key sites for specific kinds of development. It may deal with a wide range of social, economic and environmental issues (such as housing, employment, design, heritage and transport) or it may focus on one or two issues only.

The draft Castle Bromwich Neigbourhood Plan is a community project. It is what you make it. Castle Bromwich residents are invited to join us as a Member of our Society. Members may comment upon the Plan while it is in development, or be part of our team of volunteers working to write the Plan.

Our Neighbourhood Plan is being created with reference to the statutory Guidance https://www.gov.uk/guidance/neighbourhood-planning--2 and recommendations found at https://neighbourhoodplanning.org/toolkits-and-guidance/. Solihull Council's page is here https://www.solihull.gov.uk/Planning-and-building-control/neighbourhood-planning.

If successful at referendum, the Plan will become part of the statutory development plan for the area. This statutory status gives neighbourhood plans far more weight than some other local documents, such as parish plans, community plans and village design statements.
